A cozy, relaxed spot in downtown Boston. I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere, which made The Merchant a lovely place to unwind after a busy day and somewhere I’d happily return to.
GET THE BUCATINI! It is phenomenal. Great atmosphere - a bit romantic, a bit lovely. Service is excellent.
The food I got was just bad. I ordered the seared tuna salad and the seared tuna was ice cold as if it had been cooked yesterday then left in the fridge overnight then put directly onto my plate. It clearly had not been cooked that same day.
I work close by and pop in for a drink and a snack from time to time. Their clam chowder and the appetizer Berkshire pork ribs are fantastic. Their wine selection is solid, too.
