Owners Mark and Laura Blasingame have made the Map Room into an expression of their love for world travel and good beer. The walls are lined with bookshelves housing a variety of atlases and travel guides, with free WiFi available to help plan your next world voyage, and perhaps most importantly, the draught beer list includes a variety of exciting imports. Aside from beer, the Map Room also offers a fully stocked bar and locally sourced grounds to create their gourmet coffee drinks. While the bar doesn't serve food, they do... read more

great beer selection, comfortable atmosphere – i've been here on a saturday night (lots of people but i never feel crowded and i've always got a table) and on a weekday around 5pm after work. the weekday brought an after-work crowd and some patrons drinking beer and studying, reading, etc. it was perfect- i've always said i wished coffee houses served booze for thsoe times i want to read the paper and drink (just not at my house). the bartenders offered excellent suggestions for my requests.
Beer heaven – Non- pretentious atmosphere, close quarters and fabulous beer selection make for a wonderful bar. This is one of my newly christened favorites for it's extensive beer menu, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and laid-back environment. I have enjoyed many a relaxing pint here while avoiding the hipster crowd. Patrons and staff are genuine and true beer afficianados. A+. (Does tend to get a bit smokey in the back though.)
horrible staff – if you are in the mood to be harassed by men on ego trips, feel free to stop by the map room. each bouncer likes to feel as though they have dominion over every customer and can play god with the door. for a better locale and more courteous staff, i would highly recommend the bar down the street, Floyd's. no attitude and a great bar experience.
About a dozen taps keep up with the consistent post-Gen-X crowds. – In Short Subtitled "A Traveller's Tavern," the bar is decorated with shelves of books, globes and giant maps. For patrons who want to take a virtual trip, Internet access is available. This is a bar for true beer lovers: About two dozen taps and more than 70 bottles span the globe (naturally), brewing styles and seasons. In the mornings, folks gather here for coffee from Java Trading Co. and Red Hen pastries.
Great bar This place took me by surprise when we walked in and ordered a domestic light beer and were told they didn't have it. They have a vast selection of beers from around the world and it is a great neighborhood joint.
For the HOPHEAD in everyone!! – Great selection of beer but you try the IPA, perhaps thebest in town/ Nice friendly servicce to go along with great beer!!
Family Run Bussiness ! – This place is great. It is family owned and run and they do not miss a beat. It is clean, has any kind of beer you could ever crave, wine, food and so on. Great place to go with a group, happy hour, and for a wine tasting. Once you go once, you will return within a month guaranteed.
Packed, but fun – The service was fast, considering the place was packed when I went. I liked the maps on the walls and the books in the shelves. This is a good place to hang out and hoist a few beers.
