I had an uncomfortable experience at the counter today. After I had already politely answered the staff member’s initial question about how my day was going, she then asked me, “What are your plans for the rest of this afternoon?” I found this unnecessarily personal and intrusive. I was trying to concentrate on the transaction, so I simply said, “Sorry, I need to focus.” The staff member then appeared to scoff at my response. The store is well decorated and organised. Plenty of beautiful merchandise. And, the most important is the staff. They are always pleasant, friendly and helpful.
