The Lost Sea was discovered by a 13 year old boy named Ben Sands in 1905 but remained a mystery for many years after that. The cave and lake were opened commercially as the Lost Sea in 1965.

Interesting caverns We visited here and enjoyed the boat ride through the caverns. There are fish that will nip your fingers if you put them in the water. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer questions. There was not a lot of hiking.
Cavern Tour This is an interesting cavern in Tennessee. A portion of the tour is done on foot for a short distance and then you board a glass bottom boat for a whole new experience. We found this cavern tour to be very fascinating and worth you while if you are in the area.
lost sea This is a great place. My kids really enjoyed it. They take you on a boat ride, you go through the cave with a guide, who is very informative. You really need to experience total darkness.
Fantastic We went here on a class field trip. This is a great place to visit. The caves are huge and the guide was very informative. We went on a boat ride and a great tour of the caves. They offer all night stays and special tours as well. They have a restaurant, ice cream parlor, general store and (my favorite) glass blower. This place has something for everyone.
