Having stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels, I have realistic expectations when paying $500-$600 a night. One should expect working air conditioning (which was not the case), prompt and courteous response to questions and concerns (which was not the case), and honesty (again, not the case). My great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all lived in Greenville in the late 1800's-early 1900's. They worked the railroads. I wish they would have had the opportunity to stay at this lodge. Beautiful grounds, huge room with deck overlooking the grounds and the lake. The room showed an attention to detail that I've not seen before and we have travelled. The rooms were absolutely amazing with breathtaking views. The service was fantastic and the location was perfect. The food was literally was the strawberry and cheese scene from the Disney movie ratatouille. I highly recommend and most definitely will be coming back
