Unfriendly Staff The staff during the day came off as subtly rude and condescending, speaking to us as if we’d never stayed in a hotel before. Things only got worse when we had to call for help after hours. After returning from dinner, none of the room keys we were issued worked. It turned out the door’s card reader had a low battery. The staff member who showed up—and the manager she later contacted—made it very clear that we were an inconvenience. Their snappy demeanor and lack of follow-up spoke volumes. My 90-year-old grandparents have stayed here for 40 years. This time, no one told them the elevator had been broken for three months—and they were given a second-floor room. Instead of calling ahead, staff let them travel, check in, and only then mentioned it. My grandpa, trying not to cause trouble, took the stairs all weekend after being told they were “booked out” for the weekend, making him feel he had no choice.
