Very nice location but overpriced. Breakfast and diner zero not included so in view of that 371 USD was way too much.
We lodged here 1 night on a road-trip from Fairbanks to Girdwood and it was wonderful! Such a cool lodge with friendly staff. Nothing around for miles except the river and mountains. Annie gave us a hiking map (and bear spray and horn) and we enjoyed a hike and a nice nap before dinner. Room had an amazing view and bed was comfortable. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the porch in the sunshine, then a lovely meal inside. Our friends used the sauna and enjoyed that. We would definitely go back!
The Black Rapids Lodge is simply one of the finest experiences you can have in Alaska. Its location far away from the hubbub of life ensuring a real wilderness experience. But it is hardly rustic offering beautifully appointed rooms and wonderful meals. The owner, Annie Hopper, is a lovely host and if you’re lucky, we’ll even sing for you. Honestly, the four of us just had a wonderful, wonderful time there. You will too!
