Disappointing drop in quality and service. Had a great experience with the royal miyagi batch last week, and got a few dozen this time. The servicing gentleman seemed new and lacking attention to detail, leaving the bags untied and us having to ask for separate bags and name stickers--the lady in previous visits did all these for us proactively. Bought 2lbs of mussels and noticed their quality has significantly gone down compared to our past experiences. Noticed about 30% of them were either in the process dying or dead (not closing firmly when tapped). Even after steaming them (live ones), we noticed they didn't taste clean but more with the pungent taste. Not sure if it has to do with the maintenance at the shop or water quality at the aqua farm or the season?
The biggest waste of money I've spent recently was a lobster roll. They gave me a pre-wrapped one, the potato chips were completely stale, and the lobster roll tasted awful. I was so pissed.
We had the signature lobster roll and the dungeoness crab roll. They were both pretty, but tasted similar because of the mayonnaise. Both had plenty of meat in them. For the people complaining about the price, try buy a crab or lobster and make your own. You will definitely see this is not outrageously price. Staff are very pleasant and welcoming. Definitely give them a try if you are in the area.
Insanely good value and flavour on their signature lobster roll. The bun was very pillowy. The filling was very conservative on the mayo and celery to let the lobster do the talking. The chips on the side are a nice touch. One of my favourite lobster rolls I’ve had! They had other roll options too but definitely try their signature first!
