Absolutely disgusting. Chef needs some serious training! Burnt chips, clumpy pilau rice, gristley burnt chicken and a nann bread what looks like it has missed going in the oven! Do not waste your money there Absolutely VILE!!!!!

Spent 77.90 on a takeaway for 4 people and was extreamly disapointed. I dont normally feel strong enough to leave a bad reveiw but felt i had to. Nan breads were both like biscuits, and portion sizes were small to say the least. The curry its self wasnt too bad but for 14 it shoud of been better. In my opinion they should perhaps concentrate on 1 type of food rather than having parmo's and indian food on the same menu.

Shakil is back. The curry master - it was a sad day some 4 years ago when he closed the doors on Khans Linthorpe Village. Shakil is an exceptional chef. As soon as I knew he was at Leven Spice I was there. Ignore all former reviews. Large portions, beautiful lamb chops, excellent dishes such as chicken tikka jalfrezzi. The restaurant needs a bit of TLC, the front of house staff not yet matching the excellence of the kitchen- but this will come. Don’t hesitate to visit and to say what you want. Shakil will deliver. UPDATE. W... read more

The naan bread was cold when I got home after picking my order up and driving 7 mins home. The portions of the chicken tikka and lamb dupiaza were the smallest I’ve ever had from an Indian takeaway. I rang to let them know the naan was cold and I couldn’t eat it and the staff member offered a half hearted apology and said they had been busy and that was all she offered! I regularly eat Indian takeaways but tried the leven for the first time tonight but will in future be sticking to my regular Akbars Darbar Great Ayton.

Absolutely the worst Indian food ever tasted. The prawn puri was not a puri bread but like a shop bought naan bread. The onion bajees were like onion fritters. The worst dish was the sag aloo. The most vile pile of browny green sludgy slop with three tiny pieces of potato and the most disgusting dark brown and very meaty pungent smelling oil floating on top. The curries were just as bad. We took our food back and complained and full refund given. This place really needs to up its game if its going to survive.
