Went for an annual Christmas lunch with a group of ladies. This proved to be the WORST meal ever, every aspect of the food was of the poorest quality. Management showed little concern. Do not waste your money at this venue. Hugely disappointing .
We have just returned home from Thornton Hall after a fabulous wedding anniversary meal. The service, especially from Carl, was delightful. Carl was so lovely and we enjoyed chatting with him and having a few giggles along the way. His attentiveness was just right. I had booked for my wife and I to have Christmas lunch at the lawns restaurant , having previously dinned there before the last occasion being October 2024 and found the food OK. At �115 per head I was expecting something a bit over & above the standard but WOW was I disappointed. Worst Christmas Lunch EVER. The staff are so lovely, very professional and attentive. The food is some of the best I've ever tasted they must have an amazing chef.
We had dinner here as part of a spa package at the hotel (which was great value and an amazing day!). However, it was disappointing that there was not a single gluten free dessert on the evening menu. All I was offered was ice cream/sorbet, which was �5 for two absolutely tiny scoops! Additionally I was charged the same for a side of bread, despite the fact that it was just two pieces of sliced bread, in comparison to the large portion of sourdough my gluten-eating friends were served.
