Brenda should not be allowed to practice law. Her tactics are questionable, the way she positions her cases just wastes money, she files unnecessary motions to increase her fees and at the end of the day they do not accomplish anything. If she had any sense about the best interest of the children she would change the way she practices law. I would have been better off representing myself. Get a different attorney. Don’t waste your time with her. She is the worst!!!!
If you consider hiring her do your research. Don’t just take her AVVO rating at face value. She is not one of the most prominent attorneys in Colorado. If that were the case she wouldn’t be facing a suspension. She spends clients money without care and most of the time creates more issues. There are so many other firms that actually help their clients in their darkest hour. Be smart with your money and energy, go a different route.
I have to agree with some of the other posts on here. Brenda was extremely rude in emails to me, for no apparent reason, just took my money and I didn’t feel it was worth the outcome. Overall a very poor experience. Glad to see people finally speaking up about their experiences. Just choose someone else if you’re looking.
When I was going through a child custody issue as a young adult and was becoming deeper and deeper into legal fees, I ended up having to go to trial. I had paid all my fees on time and in full. My retainer was paid in full. I asked Brenda if she could please work with me on a payment plan for the trial fees. She wrote me the nastiest email I have ever received stating that she was not the one who chose to engage in a relationship with my son’s father. This attorney is notorious for unethical practices and has an impending suspension. Instead of upholding the high standards of the law, she herself lies in documents to the court, bullies the other side to try and strong arm them (ultimately hurting her clients case), and will push a case straight to a couple days before litigation to waste her clients money before telling them they should settle. I should have done my research and hired another attorney. Brenda did nothing to help me or my family case.
