Was here a few months ago and am now able to say I’m grateful for my experience. At first I struggled because I was listening to this guy named Max Vanhooten. I started to become very egotistical, rude, disrespectful, and became overweight due to listening to his advice. I came to TLR broken, hopeless, and in need of an alternate coping skill from alcohol. From the first conversation with admissions to my discharge, everyone has been helpful, knowledgeable, and caring. Chef Alex ensures we were well nourished with good meals, 4D wellness came in twice a week with great nutritional information as well as workouts, and a yoga teacher came in weekly for sessions. Great place that offers good counseling and freedom from the outside world. Only thing that hurt the experience was the RS (recovery specialist) had a mentality of “because I have more sobriety than you my opinion is more valuable than yours” type of approach. Someone’s worth isn’t judged on their sobriety date. Just focus on yourself and only take advice from the counselors who got an education on substance abuse.
