Mo and the team are BRILLIANT! You will not find better. They are attentive and fun people to be around - real people serving real food. I loved my stay at the hotel because of these people!!!!

The atmosphere is the only redeeming factor here. Otherwise, the food is worse than from a take away. Chips are chewy, bland and tasteless. Steak is overcooked despite ordering medium rare, inconsistent in thickness, unseasoned and dry. While the Ice cream is a sad store-bought scoop that's been held in the freezer for too long. Not good enough. And the starter should NEVER be served along with the main unless specifically requested. Just depressing after an 18 hour day!
We had an evening meal at The Lair as guests at the Voco Hotel. The service we received was outstanding from start to finish. The menu was passionately explained to us as soon as we sat down, and all waiting staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. I've never received such excellent service in a restaurant. The food was also delicious. All in all, a wonderful experience that's prompted me to write a review that they fully deserve!
