The Lace Place is a must-visit café when you’re at Wave Rock. It features a vintage Ford Model T right inside the shop, along with beautiful displays and unique items. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. Ask for wifi if needed. Only telestra network is available.
Lace Collection - OMG when you manage to get your eyes to refocus in the darkened room (to protect the lace) this is the most comprehensive and well preserved Lace Collection I have visited. 16 cabinets with 6 drawers in each displaying beautifully kept pieces of lace dating back to the 1800’s. Then approx 14 mannequins dressed in lace wedding dresses ranging from 1800’s through to 2000’s. Add to this a beautifully restored Dodge from the 1940’s and an old horse drawn carriage. $6 entry
This is an amazing collection. There is everything you can imagine re lace, bobbin, needle, crochet, ribbon, net, hand made and machine made. There are cabinets with pull out drawers. There are mannequins with wedding and other dresses from many different eras. It is so comprehensive and a little overwhelming. I spent an hours and could have spent two. If lace or even handcrafts are your thing, this is a must and entry (Oct 2024) is $6.
