Great Spa, just a few things I would change.... – I went with two of my wonderful friends to get hour long massages. We all got the Kura massage. The atmosphere was very nice. Our apointment was right on time. We arrived 20 minutes early (which is a must and is recomended on thier website) to fill out paperwork, leave our shoes at the door, put on our spa shoes and change into a robe. Very Unprofessional Business Management – To be honest I have never used the services at the spa but my experience with them has been less then professional. I applied for a job with them and had an interview scheduled. I live in So. Utah and drove up for my interview. beautiful, friendly staff, great services, unique – this is a really phenomenal spot - so much more than just a spa...this place is an experience. my husband took me to the kura door last saturday night for our anniversary and i was blown away by the beauty of the interior and the attention to detail. i will return again and again and will sing its praises to everyone i know. recommendation: the couples retreat - a tea service, japanese bath and massage in a couples room - a must!
wow - like being out of town – wow! i have never been moved to write a review! this place is amazing. one of the most beautiful spaces i have ever been in, first of all. i had the ofuro experience with a massage and enzyme facial...spectacular therapists and over the top treatments. i am a true spa girl and i will only go to the kura door from now on - honestly rivals experiences i've had in thailand and other 5-star resort spas. what a pleasant surprise!
Best Spa in Utah – I felt like I was in San Francisco at the best spa I've ever been to anywhere. The service was impecable and the enviroment and design elements were world class and inspiring. It was clear to me that my massage therapist was well trained and had a lot of experience. Refreshing to be in a spa that focuses on total well being and your health.The Kura Door continues to raise the bar and provide a totally unique and not to mention organic experience. What a find in Utah! – After moving to Salt Lake from Los Angeles and visiting several spas around the world over the years, it was so nice to FINALLY find a spa experience that measures up to the best that I've seen. No other spa in the Salt Lake area comes close to The Kura Door. Let me suggest the Rejuvenation Deluxe Facial, the Japanese bath, and a massage...the experience was better than the 5-star hotel spas I've visited! Bravo!
Poor Scheduling – I left this spa more frazzeled than I came in due to poor scheduling. After my massage I was left waiting in the "waiting area" for over an hour for my next treatment, a facial. This unnessary delay caused me to be late for the rest of my days activities and I left the spa racing to pick my son up from school. I spent nearly 5 hours at this spa for 3 hours worth of treatment. No apology, just a comment that I should have allowed more time! A True Retreat! – This spa is absolutely world class! From the elegant Asian aesthetic to the silk tea bags, The Kura Door never fails to put me into a state of complete tranquility and peace. The staff is always kind and professional and the therapists are consistently excellent, no matter who I go to. I am especially thrilled to have discovered the organic skin care line that they carry...my skin has never looked so good! Oooo, and the ofuro tubs -- a MUST! I will recommend this spa a thousand times over.
