A group out of touch with their customers. 25 years with Kings Mutual. My local broker retired and closed his business, which forwarded my file to Heartland Ins. in New Minas, NS. Heartland sent an invoice for a full year premium payment. No renewal and no letter of explanation. As we had never heard of Heartland or that they represented Kings Mutual we thought it was a scam. Worst home insurance in the world! Might as well have none! They refuse to help but like to take your money at near 2 grand a year! Had Crawford and Company contracted out to help after Hurricane Fiona decimated our area and they are even worse than Kings if that is possible. Run dont walk the minute the broker speaks of these guys! They are completely not helpful and their reps in the claims dept have zero customer service skills and completely unprofessional! New Minas is horrific at communication. Unless you want to communicate with them via registered mail or carrier pigeon, go to a broker and shop your options.
