This was our first time staying at The Karol and my wife and I really enjoyed. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean with large bathrooms-wish they were set up with tub and walk in shower as they are large enough- the lounge was comfortable with a great bartender “Derek” who was very personable and provided some great dinner choices off the menu. We recently gathered at the Karol Hotel Rooftop Bar to send off a longtime colleague who had spent nearly 40 years with the company. I attended a private event at this hotel. I didn't stay in any of the rooms, so I can't tell you how the rooms are. The inside and outside of the rooms are very nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and professional. Everything about this hotel looks super fancy.
I was targets of blatant harassment and xenophobic bullying at their rooftop bar and management did absolutely nothing. Two men hovered over me, invading my personal space and shouting explicit sexual details while forcing me into their FaceTime call. When I complained, the staff refused to intervene because these men claimed to be “Magic Mike VIPs” or something like that. After I reported them, the situation turned into targeted racism. We had a great stay at Karol House Hotel. The rooms are beautiful. The restaurant in the hotel is delicious--we had both dinner and breakfast there. The breakfast is a la carte (we purchased the rate with the breakfast included so it ended up being a great deal). The staff are very nice and friendly. Plenty of parking in the lot. Location is northern St. Pete so if you want something walkable to downtown, this isn't for you, but we found it easy to get from the hotel to downtown and the main attractions.
