The Juicy Crab story starts long before the opening of the Duluth, Georgia, first corporate restaurant in 2015. The Chen family's inspiration ultimately came from New Orleans and the world travels of Grandfather Chen. Grandfather Chen was a sailor who traveled the world learning many different styles and ways of cooking seafood. They’ve definitely started charging more for less. The portions were insanely small and for a “crab” place a lot of their specials don’t include the crab. They also rely heavily on the sauce that is just a boat load of seasonings and grease/ butter. If you get the seafood boils in a bag you do have the option to just get the sauce in the side and portion the salt content yourself which is what I opted for this time. Always consistent. Yum!
Visited for dinner with a party of 6. We ordered cheese stickers and fried calamari for appetizers, a variety of the #6 and #8 boil bags for dinner. The food was good and our server Bobbi was great. She was patient, knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive.
