This was our last accommodation of a two week vacation, and it was the most beautiful room we’d had. It was comfortable, spacious, and nearly perfect, except for the fact that there was not a microwave.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Ivy Hotel. The hotel was spotless, and the contemporary modern design was exactly my style. From the moment I walked in, the entrance, lobby, and even the elevators had a sleek, upscale feel that made a great first impression. We stayed on the 11th floor, and the view overlooking the Chicago skyline was beautiful, especially in the evening. The hotel is pretty modern. It is a boutique hotel, with only 5 rooms for each floor. Booked directly through the hotels website. It included a few city freebies via email, but if you are booking the same day, you may never receive a way to redeem them. The rooms we had was very spacious, very modern. The bathroom had a separate shower and a spacious soaker tub! Very relaxing! There is a TV built into the mirror in the bathroom, but it's not mentioned anywhere on the website that it's there. We checked in late. The person who was working was sat away from the front desk, looking at his phone. When he came to serve us, he had a lollipop in his mouth which he didn’t remove. Whatever he was watching on his phone continued when he served us. He wasn’t wearing a hotel uniform. It was a very cold welcome. No pleasantries at all. It was the absolute minimum human interaction. It felt very much like we were checking in to a cheap motel, not a $500 a night hotel.
