It’s bad, really bad. I was approaching surgery, I cancelled my monthly Pfizer IV injection. I had to cancel the same appointment 4 times. Loss of revenue or whatever the reason fizer booked an appointment with Dr. Rosenfeld. I did not book this appointment and 2 days before my brain surgery had this phone call. I was called the wrong name and after describing my health history, Dr Rosenfeld still did not know me. If a car salesperson did this it would be called bush league. Dr Astrid Williams is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough , I feel completely comfortable with her recommendations and diagnosis. The front desk and all staff are kind and efficient. I have also seen Dr Carl Brown, who is world class in his field and incredibly kind. We are lucky to have such an incredible gastroenterology centre in our city.
The administrative assistants are excellent; the doctors absolutely not. Impersonal and disconnected, they have little follow-through or patient care, and will handle any concerns in a dismissive manner. Their response to most concerns is to execute standard tests and not follow up on them, so in spite of the number of resources and personnel allocated to this center, the treatment will leave you feeling as though they are strained and simply incapable of providing anything other than the bare minimum insight into your condi... read more
Doctors here are excellent and at the forefront of medical therapies for IBD. However, they will not really talk to you about diet or other lifestyle changes. These are too nuanced and individualized to thoroughly discuss over a 5-10 minute appointment (yes, appointments are quick here). Instead, it took me many difficult years of research, learning, and trial/error to learn what dietary and lifestyle changes could improve my Crohn’s Disease.
