Amazing experience. A beautiful jump into the classic luxury style of Victorian Age. Staff was very elegant and polite. Our room was super spacious with comfy beds and plenty of pillows. Location is great and close to everything. Will get back with pleasure.

This is a weird one. What do you rate this place on? Charm? Heritage? Comfort? Food? The bar? Sad to say, the areas that make my stay pleasant are lacking. The bed wasn't good. It was difficult to close the blinds. The aircon was archaic. The soft furnishings in general were well worn. At times there was only one lift operating. It's difficult to arrive, there's no driveway, and the staff didn't come to help us unload. Check in and check out was slow because there wasn't enough staff. For my wife's 50th we had a staycation at the windsor, following experiencing the famous Windsor Afternoon Tea which was excellent. Now admittingly I didnt pay for one of the better rooms off Booking.com - but I did expect much better than we got. I read that the last major renovation the Windsor got was in the late 90s - and it shows. The rooms are dingy and badly appointed, the blinds were covered in dust and the room, including bedding and bed head poor and unkempt. What an absolutely disappointing stay. Booked 2 nights but checked out after 1 night. Arrived & no valet to take car or concierge to help with luggage so husband had to struggle with luggage & my wheelchair. No ramp to enter hotel. The room was freezing cold & dark. Tried adjusting thermostat but it did nothing. Tried sleeping but when 1 of us moved slightly the whole bed moved so couldn't sleep. Husband went to reception at 4am to ask for aircon to be fixed. I stayed at The Windsor Hotel on Thursday, 3 September 2026. While the hotel is in a fantastic location for the theatres and restaurants, and is a gorgeous heritage property with a magnificent staircase and beautiful foyer, I was a little disappointed with the overall experience as it does not look anything like the photos on the booking sites.
