Having grown up in the south and now living in the Pacific Northwest I don't get fried catfish that often. So when I came to Arkansas for some training and to visit a friend, we went to The Hook for dinner. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. If you're going for the ambiance, this isn't a five star restaurant. Display serve good southern food have a good price. If I'm ever back this way again I'll definitely be stopping in. Shout out to Brandy who did an amazing job
Thoroughly enjoyed this place! Catfish is well cooked, hush puppies are fantastic! The cajun catfish is my favorite. The short gal behind the register is a joy to deal with. Much better than any catfish restaurant I've found in little rock, and prices are solid. Worth the 30 minute drive.
Came in today for dinner got there at took us 45 minute to an hour to get our food I ordered the blackened catfish with onion rings and corn nuggets ..I only got 4 onion rings and they were under cooked the corn nuggets where ok the blackened was ok but not great. My wife got the Cajun fried fish had to send it back and they only dropped it back in the grease and brought it back out she didn’t eat anything other than her sides and was visibly upset they seemed to be short staffed and unprepared for dinner to be just opening ... read more
The very best catfish. For just a few dollars more, we got a 2 and 3 piece meal with 3 hush puppies each and fries for what a new restaurant in Cabot wants for a 2 piece meal with only 2 small hush puppies and meager serving of fries. As it turned out the cook gave us an extra catfish filet for both of us. WOW! WHAT A Great Deal!!! Our server was excellent. No where else will you get this quality of food, service and pre-Covid prices.
The food was well prepared. I just didn't like some of the seasonings on my sides. The fish was great!!! And the service was good.
