At Thanksgiving we reserved and prepaid for 2 1lb pkg’s of ham. I picked them up on 11-26-24. At home one pkg felt lighter than the other so I weighed them on our food scale. Turned out one weighed 13.2 oz and the second 14.7, 4.1 ounces shy of the 32 oz we paid for. So, word of caution this may be a common occurrence and happens frequently. My advice is if you’re picking up prepackaged ham, or similar, have them weigh it in front of you to ensure you are getting what you are paying for.
My mother was not happy with.the ham this year. She said it taste like they smoked it and she would not eat it. I paid 120.00 for a ham my mom would not eat. The crust on it was dark, and that set the presidence for her. We get a ham every Thanksgiving, and this was the 1st year she said she could and would not eat it.
I recently placed an order with The Honey Baked Company in Bluffton SC(Order #: 305160403) and was saddened to find that the smoked turkey I ordered was not available at pickup. It was disappointing to hear that several other customers who ordered the smoked turkey were also told they had run out. While the staff was pleasant and courteous, the company needs a better system to ensure preorders are filled. This is for the owner. Pete do you know what the word Reserve means ? When myself and 6 other ppl purchase their turkey & etc in advance and schedule a pickup date and time there is NO reason why you should tell us you are out! Those who paid in advance for their Thanksgiving meals should have been set aside and held for their schedule pickup day and time .
