I went there this weekend it was definitely NOTHING like the old homeplace (I went there all the time and loved that place) the food looked awful chicken was under cooked had to ask for some more cooked browner chicken and the lemonade was the worst and the bread was hard and cold I decided not to even eat. I was told it was not that good but thought I would go try it for myself. I will not be going back there...
This weekend was my wife’s birthday celebration weekend and we found ourselves back at an old favorite. First we hiked up to Dragons Tooth and that was a beautiful hike. For years we would go and enjoy an amazing meal with family and friends. Being broken hearted when it closed we are happy that has changed. The addition of the Coo Cows or Highland Cows is an added bonus. The food was just as good or better than before. We will be back and plan to bring family and friends.
The time of resurrection has come. After a few years after closing due to COVID and now new owners, the Home Place has reopened with the original menu and recipes. Family style restaurant offering options of 1 meat meals to 3 meats (fried chicken, country ham, and roast beef). Sides of mashed potatoes, beans, homemade biscuits, slaw, and gravy.
