The first two times I stayed here it was amazing I got so much support the nurses were lovely and the groups on offer were good. The last two times there was a lack of program staff and a lot of programs not run the psychiatrists all seemed to be leaving and the nurses were struggling to handle the extra pressures being put on them
I was here twice, in 2011 and 2016. As someone who has had experience of interstate hospitals, I can say that the accommodation was shakey (even though I got a single room) with poor construction like a temporary demountable. The floors would creak move under you like you're in a haunted house at a fun fair. Some of the older nurses were nice, but the younger ones were neglectful. My first stay here last year was a positive experience and Dr Elcock was a wonderful psychiatrist to me. Such a shame that it’s gone downhill and he’s left, they have refused to pass me over to someone else’s care so I’ve been left without help. The last time I stayed nurse Glenn came into my room, sat down without permission and pried my life story out of me until I was in tears. Another came to do a check and interrupted my phone conversation I was having when no awknowlegement of them is needed for a simple check. The pro... read more
my first 3 stays over the years was unfaultable. now its totally different they wont take the patient s who actually are willing to (alot wont go back anymore) i called melbourne clinic and delmont clinic both have a few patients in there from hobart and basically finished my story for me once i told them i would go back eventhough the new pyschologist for example thought it was a good idea to have a mentally ill patient who was a navy vet who was in there as her partner bashed her regularly and oneday decided to hurt her ch... read more
