It really was that great. Went two times in a week to see how consistent they were, and they are, very consistent. Such great steak for the money. Ice cream flavors rotate out too!! Also the stray cat outside, I don't know what his name is, but i Nicknamed him "Scratchy" he's always by the front door ready to greet you lol.
I have eaten at many fine restaurants in many states and countries but never had a finer meal than my recent visit to the Hitching Post. Not only was the filet fabulous but every aspect of the meal was absolutely great from the relish tray to the sherbet and even the coffee.

Very nice place for special occassions but definitely get reservations ahead of time they get packed. Food is really good and service too. It's a little noisy and a little cramped in there but food is so good you don't mind it. We usually ask for the table by the kitchen window to watch the chef cook everything its pretty cool. Pulling up to the Hitching Post, I didn’t know if I was going to get delicious BBQ or get robbed by a stagecoach. I definitely got the BBQ. There’s no phone signal out here on these roads, but Hitching Post is a classic Santa Maria BBQ experience (only worse than my neighbor’s BBQ, too bad you’re not incited.
