Before joining The HIIT Locker, I felt unsure about strength training and a little intimidated by the idea of lifting weights. I was motivated to move my body more intentionally and get as strong as I could, but I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to feel stronger physically and emotionally, especially as a woman in her 40s. I spend a lot of time driving for my job each day and find it difficult to exercise. This was affecting my health as well as my mood. I was always tired and unmotivated when I got home each day. When I joined I was really impressed with everything. I found it really easy to book sessions, plan my meals and have got on really well with all the coaches. Before I started my health and fitness were not great, including my mental health. I found myself feeling lost, sluggish, no drive to do anything. I also felt like I didn't do anything for myself as I am a mum of 2. Things weren't great. When I got started I found everything exciting. I was raring to go. I felt I needed to improve my level of fitness by adding in some kind of weight training so I signed up. I thought the coaches were all very friendly and encouraging. They were able to instruct me on how to do all of the exercises and correct me where I was going wrong. The training sessions were fun and flew in. I was sent a nutrition programme which gave lots of ideas for meal planning. So far I feel stronger and I am starting to see more definition in my muscles.
