I recently went on a trip to Big Bend, and the surrounding area, and The High Frontier was the perfect hub for my adventure. It's perfectly located in Fort Davis, so you're only a short drive away from just about anywhere exciting in West Texas. The room is stayed in was magnificent. Our stay at the High Frontier gave us exactly what we were looking for: A nature escape in the heart of West Texas with endless desert vistas and some of the most beautiful night sky I have ever seen. The surrounding landscape was a perfect mix of rugged beauty and serenity. Right across from the Chihuahuan desert institute, near the McDonald observatory and a short drive away from Marfa, there are plenty of things to do in the area which made the High Frontier an ideal strategic home base for our journey.
The High Frontier was the perfect get away vacation for us. We stayed in Studio 1 (you'll find pictures of the room online) and it had a personal balcony with a phenomenal view. The feeling of the land felt very adventurous, with a windy dirt road taking you to the rooms. We spent the evenings on the lounge chairs outside looking up at the stars and enjoying the quiet. This was my first time staying in West Texas, and High Frontier made it an unforgettable experience. The room was perfect, clean, cozy, and had that authentic desert vibe. The staff was super friendly and helpful. What really blew me away were the early sunrises and the night sky with so many stars, it didn’t feel real. It’s a memory I’ll hang onto for a long time. Really glad I chose this place. it delivered in every way.
