I like interacting with the residents but I TRY to keep up with the fast paced work. I do have disabilities myself which I understand doesn't matter in this type of work.
Management is awful. At least for the nursing department. The Director of Nursing is a good person, but a crappy boss. She doesn't stand up for her people. She is afraid to, and, the Executive Director is not a people person. I was the WAA and did everything I could to excel in my job. I ended up quitting. I walked in and sat down and started to shake and had to quit. No job is worth that!!!
RecommendedI can’t say enough about The Hearth at Greenpoint. Although my Grandma was not there long, the care and support she received was phenomenal. Everyone is so compassionate. They seem to truly have the best interest of the residents at heart.
You could treat your residents with caring attitudes & compassion instead of only being worried about money! How dare you keep my 91 year old mother in the hospital for an extra 6 days when she needs to be back in her apartment. Looking for someone to intervene in this matter and bring her home.
This place was great when my parents moved in but has gone downhill considerably in the last 3-4 years. Use to get a smile from EVERY staff member, now the front desk barely acknowledges you. Case manager Nadia is useless, don't even know if she still works there the communication with family is so bad. Staff turn over frequent and I consider these and other issues a reflection of the administration.
This place is not about care.
my grandpa is there and I am so thankful to the hearth for all of their precautions during this time to keep him, the residents, and the staff safe. Gramps is quite happy there as well, says he loves the food...especially the breakfast. my family and I cannot thank this place enough for everything they have done since he moved in.
FRIENDLY AND CARING STAFF, THEY CARE FOR OUR FAMILIES JUST AS IF THEY WERE THERE FAMILY.
Staff has been wonderful to my Dad. He’s not always the easiest person to deal with although he can be charming. Staff from nurses to aids to dining servers to maintenance to community relations to cleaning have ALL been wonderful, compassionate and professional. THANK YOU especially during this most difficult time of lockdown when you all on the inside have to bear the burden of being caregivers and “family” because we can’t personally be there for our loved ones in order to keep everyone safe.
