I was a client at The Healing Place in Wilmington for three months earlier this year. The staff at the facility were extremely professional and helpful. The program was well structured and there was a high level of accountability. Jared, who is in charge of the men’s program, was very engaged and kept everyone on their toes. Prejudice, my opinion. The campus predominantly white population. Been in detox and they treat blacks differently. I was unfortunately to do orientation in the Detox Building, and I observed these employees do a lot of violations. Documentation of the charts’ entry.(lying in their P.I.E. Note’s entry. I’m grateful for not being selected. People with 1 year off drugs and been through their program, run the place. No recovery; just clean time.

I came to The Healing Place a broken man, lost in addiction, struggling to keep family and friends. I needed help. I needed time. I wanted to learn how to live a sober life. I learned it was more than the drink and drug. I learned that it was me. How I reacted to life, how i treated people. The Healing Place and their program of Alcoholics Anonymous taught me how to live. I found a power great than myself. I was given my life back. And I owe it to them. I have to say that this place saved my life I came there as a broken homeless drug addict , I didn't know what to do when I got to the detox there .I was tired of fighting a losing battle with drugs. They introduced me to the program of recovery I had a place to lay my head 3 meals aday an a chance to work on me an get my life back on track. The healing place is one of the worst places in the world. The mens program director as well as the woman director pick and choose who they want to stay and who they want to go. I went there finished the program and worked in the office but was asked to leave because of a comment made to someone but yet they let some people who where in a in house relationship go through the program work in the office and then staff. 2 of them still work there and our still in the same relationship they was in while they were there.
