A company with zero morals. One of their employees (Maria Pena) door dinged me in their company car and refused to give insurance information even after speaking with their boss. They were belligerent, called me names, and refused to give insurance information after causing damage. The irony to find out they are an insurance provider themselves and have 1.3 stars on 98 reviews. Take your business elsewhere.
They don’t payout on claims even if they approve them. Waste of have a policy if they don’t cover you.
On a fixed income, I made arrangements for automatic withdrawal with one of their customer care agents in August a week prior to the payment. Need I add to the slew of 1 star reviews? Not really, but I will anyway. Key takeaway: stay far, far away if your insurance agent recommends The Hartford for business, home, car, or any insurance. We had business coverage through The Hartford for 3 years, never filed a claim. In 2025, I wound down business significantly and asked them to adjust the policy accordingly. Our 3 month old parked truck was hit in the grocery store parking lot by someone insured by The Hartford. I had to mediate discussions between the body shop and insurance to get parts covered. The Hartford was quick to place fault on the body shop, but they rarely returned call or emails. The accident happened on 1/31/26. Today is 3/5/26.
