Just got off the phone with NANCY, the online chat agent who didn't write a single line of English that was close to understandable. She plugged in prewritten answers, was of no help, and refused to admit she was an outsourced worker. TRUST THE HARTFORD? They hiked my home insurance 22% in one year with not explanation (and no claims), even though I am not in one of the "troubled states." Please, for your own sake, avoid THE HARTFORD. They are an outsourced nightmare who are earning a rep for not paying claims.
Customer service is friendly, but I agree with another reviewer that their claims process is a mess. For my maternity leave, I was approved for 14 weeks with my baby, which is wonderful! They overlapped some of those claims so I got even less time off than I was approved for. All because one of the representatives entered the dates in error. The worst business insurance there is. Their billing resolution email is unresponsive/unmonitored. They sent us an invoice with an email for making the payment but the email guys were unresponsive and then they sent the invoice to a collection agency which impacts our business credit score even though they were at fault for failing to provide a way to clear their invoice or responding to the emails sent to the inbox/email they provided.
Signed up through AARP. They are the worst. My rates have doubled every 6 months for a year and a half with no claims. Finally had a claim after 3 years, hit a deer and they wouldn’t pay the $8500 to fix the car so they totaled a 2019 jaguar with 100K miles on it in awesome shapes except for the front end on passenger quarter panel. They gave me a whopping $12K for it. My son got tboned in his 2016 ford focus svt with 113K miles on it last week and he got the same amount $12K. The math isn’t mathing. Honestly, if I could leave zero stars for a review I would, but yet, since one star is the only option here we are. This is a horrible company.I've had them for general liability insurance.They denied my claim even though it's covered underneath my coverage. It takes weeks for them to respond, and when you talk to them, they act as if they don't know what you're talking about. I do not recommend them for business insurance.
