About this business

Enjoy Mediterranean food, as it was meant to be, in a relaxed setting with family and friends at The Grape Leaf. With chef Nabil Al-Saba at its helm, this neighborhood restaurant was one of the first in the city to offer authentic Middle-Eastern cuisine, and remains a popular choice for classic, Mediterranean staples like hummus, fatoush, lentil soup, tagines, shawarma, vegetable mousaka and succulent, grilled kebabs. The food is as it should be - fresh, flavorful and cooked with a whole lot of love. The restaurant itself is... read more

Excellent I Miss It Dearly! – I lived in Louisville for 13 years and The Grape Leaf was my favorite restaurant in the entire city and considering the fact that I ate out more than I ate at home, that's saying a lot. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is the service, it has been bad at times. Now, I have to say that I generally picked my food up and took it home most of the time, but I have dinned there on several occasions and the service has been bad. The servers seemed to be inexperienced and on occasion, rud... read more

Relaxing & Quiet atmosphere – We were looking to try Mediteranian food, chose Grape Leaf. Side street parking. Tastefully decorated, well kept, and clean. Wonderful hostess/server. The suggestions and help with the chef's specials were well received by most, however there was a spice (cinnamon - maybe, not sure) that was in all lamb dishes ordered (maybe that's all mediteranian dishes - new to the flavour) . A variety of vegetarian dished. Big burrito, huge portions on every meal - worth the money. YOU GOTTA TRY: the bean di... read more

Angry Server Chases After Customers – For four years I have been recommending The Grape Leaf on Frankfurt to anyone who will listen. No more. After my experience there Saturday night, I will never eat there again, and hope to dissuade as many people as possible from doing the same. The food has always been good--the customer service, iffy. Saturday night, we had a particularly argumentative server who was rude, condescending, and plain wrong on several points. We tried to be polite, but it didn't help. (We were on the patio,... read more

Hummus is out of this world, but be sure to ask for hot sauce- it deffinitely takes it to extraordinary heights! – The food here is healthy with a capital H, including the portions. All the foods on the best for the body list will be found; fresh lemon juice, olive oil, avocados, organic greens, almonds, pine nuts, parsley, pomegranates, dates, fresh garlic and too many more to name. I love this place and am a regular-can you tell? On busy nights be prepared for a possible wait on your food.

Great Greek Food – Awesome greek food, treat yourself to something different in Louisville, worth the trip off the beaten path for most out of towners. I am very picky, and I will go back to the Leaf the next time I am in the Ville!!

A great taste of something different – Food is excellent and cooked in a very similar way to traditional Mediterranean. Price is reasonable. Service is ok. Nice outdoor setting if weather is nice.
