This evening my wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Graceful Ordinary. It was our first time there. The location is right on the Fox River. You can either request inside or patio seating. We chose to sit outside in a screened in patio overlooking the river. The ambiance was wonderful both inside and outside. The staff were excellent. The drinks were well made. The food was phenomenal. Graceful Ordinary is a cut above most restaurants in the area. We highly recommend it.
The waitress recommended the walleye and the Brussel sprouts. Was disappointed with both and sent back the brussel sprouts because they were burnt. Walleye dinner was very small and came with 2 sides that were very small portions also. Probably a spoonful of both. Not worth the money. Also drinks are way over priced, so I drank water.
We celebrated our anniversary last night by going to dinner at this new-to-us restaurant in Saint Charles. We loved everything about The Graceful Ordinary from the ambience to the amazing service (thanks Karen!) to the creative cocktails to the delicious food. Ambiance is top notch, food was excellent and service was great. I enjoyed the short rib, but would have enjoyed a slightly larger portion size even more given the price of the meal. My wife did not like the pork belly that much. I tried it and wasn't a fan of it either, but then again I would never order pork belly anywhere. The fresh bread and truffle fries were extremely good. I would be more inclined to return if there were more entrees to choose from that were not fish.
Been here twice for dinner. Service was great one time and a little unreliable/delayed/unpredictable the other time. Both visits however food was fantastic as was bar program. Special shout-out to bar staff Kate and Claire who shot the shit with us and were happy to field our questions and our esoteric requests when we retired to the bar for a few more after dinner.
