I've lived here at The Gold for 5 years now. The location is perfect if you're looking to live in a walkable community. There is always something to do, in every season. Walking to downtown Washington Ave. with great restaurants, shopping, etc. Parfet Park, to the left, often has community events. Golden Mill, to the right, is a great food hall/tap room to frequent. Upon taking a tour, everything seemed great. The process was prompt and we got moved in quick. After getting the keys, the apartment was disgusting and we realized after trying to place furniture that the walls and floors were horribly warped, up to a 10 degree slope. We also realized that we were lied to about countless things including the availability of natural gas and the internet availability... Rent: They raise rent yearly, even when other complexes are lowering theirs. I know Golden is pricy, but considering the age and condition of the building, I did not feel like the price was justified. We have a better place now at a similar price point, with much better amenities and a similar location. Internet: They knowingly lied to us on our tour about WiFi. I have loved living here. It is safe, friendly, and clean. The interiors are all updated, and the owner and management are beyond lovely. I love that it is centrally located and pet-friendly. We can walk the creek every day! The courtyard is stunning, and the building is super secure. I think it is very reasonably priced.
