Yes, this place is off the beaten path! I'm not sure about you, but I know those are the ones that have the best food, atmosphere, and the kindest people. Today, I was out and about and decided to check out this cute little place off of 287. The food was amazing. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was incredible. I've been all over the country to several little small towns and this place felt like home. DEFINITELY going to stop in again!!!
We ordered to go to try it out for the first time. Alb of brisket, 1/2 lb of pulled pork and a1/2 lb of jalapeno cheese sausage. We got spicy sauce, regular sauce and a 'north Carolina' (this one is mustard based)sauce. The brisket and the pork had little to no smoke flavor. The brisket was chewy, but not dry. The sausage was good, spicier than most. The best of the three sauces was the spicy sauce. My husband is from N.C., we are used to the vinegar based sauce, not mustard based. Wanted some good BBQ, stoped by while traveling through. It did not disappoint! Great service and amazing food.
Food is usually pretty good. Atmosphere is super cute and chill. Owner is pretty cool. Last time I ate there I asked for a shot of rum to add to my coke. I was charged for a double. When I asked the young waitress why I was charged a double she just said "that's just how we do things here". So I jokingly said I should ask for half a shot next time...
