I made reservations in advance as this was our Anniversary. I had requested a table with a lake view. When we arrived a gentleman named Kevin sat us behind the bar with no view - probably the worst table there. I explained that I had requested the lake view well in advance. When I made our reservation, I stated that we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary. We chose The Getaway because we stayed at the French Country Inn on our very first anniversary. Not that I expected anything spectacular, but at no time did our server ask or mention anything about us being there to celebrate our anniversary. Great French Toast. Great coffee. Great Service. Definitely coming back
Our Airbnb host suggested this place and it did not disappoint. Visiting from Maryland, we had to do the Wisconsin Friday fish fry. The setting on Lake Como is beautiful and we lucked out with a perfect sunset. Our meals were delicious with great, friendly service. We dined inside but the outdoor deck was calling my name. It seems the perfect setting for a gathering of old friends, a romantic date night, or a family outing. Would definitely return.
