My auto-pay has been flawless, and they successfully deducted my premium ($221.08) on May 11. Despite having my money, they erroneously sent me a backdated "Notice of Cancellation for Non-Payment." Quoted a very good price, so we took the deal. The price was changed on month 3 to more than double what we were quoted. They ran out driving records after we entered a contract, and then claimed the accidents we had been on were our fault even though there is documentation that we were not at fault.
I’ve been with The General for 2 years. I filed two claims, hit and run auto and windshield. I didn’t have issues with the windshield with going to their in house windshield replacement before. This time I decided on an auto body shop referred by Kia, I drive a Kia Telluride 2021, I knew better then to let an insurance company dictate where I got my car fixed as cheap insurances are known for cheap labor and using used and recycled parts with issues. Zero stars. After a not-at-fault accident, The General dragged out my total loss claim for months, leaving me without transportation and forcing me to use my own insurance just to protect myself financially. They then denied rental reimbursement for the period their own delays caused, citing “internal policy” instead of taking responsibility. This has been exhausting, stressful, and completely unacceptable.
Worst insurance ever! They kept adding people to my policy without my knowledge or consent and claim the sent letters or emails to inform me which I never received. Then when I would call to have these people removed my policy would go up by $20 for every adjustment. I had to have people removed that once had the same PO Box as me or that used to live at my residence.
