Splish Splash! – Gateway has an amazing fountain that everyone enjoys playing in. That is there best feature going for them. A day is well spent, free of charge, by taking a picnic lunch, spreading out a blanket on the grass and playing in the fountain. Every so often music comes on and an amazing water show (kids included) is performed. It is a great day at low cost! :)
Overrated! – Very few stores, and even less good stores. As for the outdoor shopping... now way! I went this summer and it was far to hot to enjoy myself. I can't wait to try shopping outdoors in the winter. The cold is the only way you will get me to go into some of the second-rate stores they have though.
Outdoor Shopping in Utah?? – Outside shopping is either too hot or too cold. I prefer the downtown malls. More stores, less walking and perfectly air conditioned or heated builidings.
Shopping Outside Is Not Overrated – I thought parking downtown would be a mess. I was wrong. I thought I'd have to fight masses of people on a Saturday afternoon. Wrong again. I thought it would have nothing new to offer. WRONG! In fact, I spent the better part of an afternoon leisurely strolling from store to store, getting in a little sun, and enjoying some Ben & Jerry's ice cream outside. I even ran through the water fountain! Shopping didn't seem like such a chore anymore, and I even found some stores I'd never seen such... read more
Unfriendly to kids – Stores are ok. A few unique items. All stores have quality and pricy goods. Biggest problem is with Gateway managers or whoever makes decisions about the public areas. They build a great fountain that attracts kids and families. One of the best public spaces in the city. Then management gets confused. The road near the fountain is closed to traffic, then after kids get used to running across the street, they open it to traffic again. After letting kids play in the fountain all summer, now they say no dan... read more
great shopping trip – i love this place..great atmosphere. I love the mix of high end and low end stores. Such a variety.
Upbeat and trendy, Gateway has the best of an outdoor adventure, all stores within short walking distance from each other. The fun is in the atmosphere created and the variety of stores. There is much to see and to do, as well as shop for the newest and hippest items on your list.
Sometimes newer is better – I like this "MALL" because it is outdoors and not in some dark sunless cave like the other "Malls" here in Salt Lake City. I get to shop, get fresh air, and excercise too.
Lots to See! – Gateway's great--if it's not to hot or cold! I recommend going there in the evening. The water show is fun, especially if you have kids. But it is a shopping area, so it's a lot more fun if you have money!
The Gateway has no reviews yet.
The Gateway is closed now. It will open at 9:00 a.m.
