The therapy staff were amazing. They were incredibly well organized and worked well as a team. With Monica's help, I can now transfer and am developing the ability to stand. When Monica interacts with all the patients in our group, love and joy flows through her. Not only is she competent in the job requirements but it is obvious that she truly enjoys working with this client population. The Garrison is blessed to have Monnica working here. Lexi is a night aid who was on duty the night the really bad PRN (substitute) nurse was on duty. Despite that, Lexi. went about taking care of the clients as needed. She consistently does her job in a thorough and professional manner
October 2024 Shinequa and JoAnn made am amazing team, working nights. Shinequa is efficient and effective. She does her job with a positive attitude.
I have only one complaint about the Garrison. I am a large woman who was unable to stand up or transfer without help of a Hoyer lift. (which required two staff). I frequently was not able to get in or out of bed when requested due to there being only one staff on duty on our hall. While I do understand that this may meet the state's minimum requirements, there were many days in which it did not meet my needs.
During my stay at Garrison in October 2024, the ADON Cedrick was most competent. When notified of the incompetence of a PRN (substitute) nurse Cedrick took action to ensure that she never worked another shift on this campus. Cedrick handles things fairly and timely. He is competent and works well with teams.
I was in the Garrison in October 2024. There were many amazing staff, but Cynthis stood out among staff on the Magnolia wing. She is quiet and non-assuming. Consistently and thoroughly doing her job. If you asked Cyntha, she would take care of it before the shift was over--no matter how short-handed they were. She deserves special recognition for all she gives. Percilla Carey, LCSW
I was in the Garrison the month of October 2024. I had a nurse named JoAnn who not only was a competent nurse but also knew how to treat her patients with dignity and respect. I was recovering from a life-threatening bacterial infection and had also experienced repeated falls with extensive injuries. JoAnn was able to interact with me in a manner that calmed my fears. I came to the Garrison the month of October 2024. One night my oxygen levels bottomed out into the 70's. I was very scared. Nurse LaTonya Wynn took action immediately. She contacted the doctor immediately. A portable ex-ray machine was here in minutes to see if my lungs were filling with fluid. She gave me the needed breathing treatments to get my oxygen levels to normal. Her manner was calm and competent. She kept me well informed throughout the night regarding each step of the process.
