We’ve had the joy of working at The Gallery Event Space since the very beginning, and it remains one of our favorite venues in Kansas City. I worked a bartender shift at The Gallery. It was horrible. They took my tip jar, literally snatching it with at least $200, and gave me $35 as my share. I asked in advance about tips, and the manager REFUSED to tell me HOW they were divided. Their equipment/ice machine was broken, no one told me, the lid didn't attach, and fell down, hitting me in the face, cutting me in several places and bruises by the time I took my makeup off. It's a pretty place, but employees are not always treated well. I worked a shift as a temp bartender. I counted over $100 in big bills plus a ton of 1's. They took all my tips, by snatching the jar, and gave me $35 back as "my share". Plus, their equipment is broken, the ice machine top fell on me from a broken hinge and cut up my face. Horrible experience.
The Gallery Event Space is one of the most amazing venues in Kansas City! Not only is it perfectly located, adjacent to Power & Light downtown within walking distance of the best hotels, dining, and cocktail spots, it's the one of my top favorite venues for a wedding. The team, food (🤤), and space are 100/10 and A DREAM. The Gallery and Kill Devil Club are a top 5 favorite for me and I highly recommend them for any Kansas City wedding or event!
