This is the most beautiful, hospitable, atmospheric, charming place that my husband and I have ever stayed. Beautiful setting, but unfortunately not worth the price. My husband and I dined at The Gables a few nights ago and, while the atmosphere is beautiful and romantic, we were really disappointed with the food given the price point. I ordered the steak salad and unfortunately it was extremely salty. It was loaded with capers and olives to the point that it tasted like I was eating spoonfuls of salt, and I couldn’t really enjoy the dish. City level fine dining (and pricing) but at the beach, can’t beat that. Quaint, romantic setting, and great service. The food is a culinary experience that would stand out anywhere. Our fifth time there over the years and rarely an item we haven’t liked. Perfect place for an upscale date night/gathering in LBI. Also BYOB even though a few wine options can purchase there.

The best possible date night you could ask for on LBI. It was our first time dining here and it did not disappoint. The ambience, the service, the food was incredible. The Duck entree was absolutely exquisite. The evening felt relaxed like we were allowed to take our time but not that we were forgotten about, our server Kate was so amazing. In my opinion- you cant go wrong picking the gables! Will be back for my birthday!
