For the price - I've probably had better sandwiches in Ann Arbor and elsewhere. Overall the food's okay, I just find it hard to find a sandwich that is to my liking. My favorite part was dessert - they have homemade cinnamon ice cream that they serve over a warm cookie bar - which is very yummy! The dessert was huge so be prepared.

The prices are rediculously high for mediocre food. The server I had was rude and arrogant. Went because it was a trendy place and quite popular but I wont be going back.

Hard crust hard to swallow The crust on my bread was too hard to bite. I was told by the waitress the next time I should take white bread. Someone else told me the next time they could cut the crust off. The manager told me the bread was fresh and made me feel like I was lying. There will be no next time. 9 dollars for a sandwich I could barely eat. What is so great about this place? Decor is not good.

Started good, slipping fast – There's the French Laundry in wine country, CA and then there's this place which doesn't resemble that place in the least. I've lived in CA and NYC, London and eaten in great restaurants worldwide. The first two times I went I was very excited to have anything remotely close to fine dining (with a casual bistro atmoshphere) in this part of Michigan but over the last few (over a period of about a year) the quality has totally diminished. Good things: Orangina is served here! Mushroom and barley s... read more

Classy and Tasty The owner travels around the world to find the finest meats, cheeses, breads and coffees. We absolutely love this restaurant. It has a trendy feel yet very family oriented. All of the employees are friendly. At first glance, the prices may seem high, but for the great food and the size of the meal, it is well worth the price. Also, they have great desserts! I highly recommend the Chief Ruler!

Nice Location Well the French Laundry is centrally located in downtown Fenton and is quite popular among the community I find that it is a good place to stop in for a drink and a chat but there prices are through the roof. A half a sandwhich is around $9 and frankly no better than more reasonable places. You will enjoy yourself but are paying for atmosphere. It is also within walking distance to all of the dowtown shops, resale, museum, etc.

Food: awesome. Selection: huge. One of the largest selections of sandwiches I've seen anywhere, along with salads and deli items, incredible bread, bagels and baked goods and excellent coffees. Recently remodelled, so now there is much more seating than before. It's a bustling place, with take out available. Downside: It's in downtown Fenton and parking is challenging to say the least. At lunchtime you may have to park blocks and blocks away. Also, they are very expensive - this entire region has a dearth of decent restauran... read more
