We were driving through Gatesville and stopped here for lunch. The chicken and dumplings were so good. Loved the atmosphere. The grilled catfish, pinto beans and fried okra were yummy. Would stop by here again if in the area.
Got the Prime Rib! Very tasty. All food was hot when it arrived and portions were good! Service was OK, not many diners and yet when asked for extra Au Jus she never brought it out. Husband had to ask someone else for additional horseradish sauce. Refills were slow also. I would have expected these 'mushaps' if place was packed, it was not. All in all 4 stars seemed fitting, we will be back for the prime rib!
