The Fat Robin is one of my favorite places to visit in Hamden. You can easily spend an hour or more in this shop. Ryan Zipp is the owner/photographer and he displays his many beautiful photos of scenery and wildlife. You can find bird houses, top grade bird feed and bird feeders. Ryan also stocks gifts for all, very different and eclectic. I highly recommend a stop at The Fat Robin!

Great little bird store owned by the nicest people. Been going here for years and also go on the bird walks they host. Very knowledgeable and the store always has some quaint gifts beside bird seed and supplies.
Fat Robin is an amazing store for bird lovers. The premises are always clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. They certainly know about wild birds, what the birds like (and should/should not eat), which migrate, how to keep squirrels out of your feeders, etc. My husband buys all our bird seed and suet there though we live in a town a number of miles away. It’s really good!
The Fat Robin is THE place for wild bird supplies. Might be one of the last stores to still be a Brome Dealer. Great selection and inventory, very well organized and the staff is great! Can you find something cheaper elsewhere? Probably. But. you wont get the level of service you get at Fat Robin. The fact that this store has been in business for 28 years speaks volumes.
