Decent little store. What I really liked about this place was the prepared foods offerings. What i'm disappointed about, is they recently changed their prepared burritos recipe, that they offer on Thursdays/Fridays. They no longer use the same kind of chicken they previously used (it's cubed now and tastes like it was frozen or processed... before it was freshly cooked and was awesome). My home away from home, and owned by the grandson of Ralph McGuire who owned Fireside Market, which served the same purpose for me back in the '70s. Very much a family business, very much more than a market. A real gem in our community.
We live next door and I go there almost every day. The Farms is basically my pantry. All of the staff are wonderful-always so sweet to my 3 yr old, the meat and deli can't be beat, and the fresh produce and bread is incredible. When mangoes are in season, they have the absolute best I've ever tasted anywhere in the world! It's a rare gem to find a neighborhood market like this amidst all the big chain stores in Santa Monica. No lines, easy parking, adorable seating area out front to enjoy your lunch from the deli. Such a great staff, very friendly and welcoming. I just had a delicious lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles and salami sandwich in a fresh sliced ciabatta bread from Sumano's bakery. D E L I C I O U S !
