Not sure why a place that's called "The Family Center of Maine" would then have an inexperienced "administrative assistant" repeatedly question a potential client over the phone on their desire to arrange for family counseling (as opposed to individual counseling for all four members of the family). We started at The Family Center of Maine when it first opened a few years ago. Post-Covid, they were able to provide our community with a service that it had been severely lacking for so long. I can't say enough about how wonderful and welcoming the staff has been. Over the past couple of years, I have referred countless family members and friends in southern Maine area and their response to their services has been overwhelmingly positive! We found The Family Center of Maine after a family crisis when we needed help for our three children. Locally, we struggled to find anyone taking new clients, but thankfully, we connected with Pam at the Gorham office. She was absolutely wonderful! Despite us living over an hour away, she quickly arranged for all three children to have separate counselors and set up a regular virtual appointment schedule. They bill insurance directly and even worked with us to create a rotating billing schedule between myself and my children... read more
My family has been with the Family Center of Maine since they started and I could go on and on about how amazing this agency is. They are professional, the offices are pristine, yet cozy, and the clinicians are top notch! So, so grateful for the Family Center of Maine!
Can't say enough about how much Teresa at the Family Center of Maine has helped me through some difficult times. I have seen other therapists in my life, but no one comes close to the care and help I received from her and the Family Center. They are simply the best.
