Was only at castle Ashby to pick up a friend. The falcon looks like a lovely pub, but not open at the moment to members of the public. The only way to access the pub is to book a retreat and or room in the pub and its facilities
Sadly, this once nice place is closed unless you want a "room only" option. It is unclear that EVERYTHING else is unavailable. It is not clear on the website. It is not visible on Google or other mapping. They seem to think it's OK to let people find out after a long drive that they are in effect closed. Trying to explain this to them was impossible, as they kept interrupting me. They can't seem to understand how unreasonable it is not to make the very limited service clear online. Don't book this hotel on their website. It's closed. They will deduct money from your credit card and not respond to requests for a refund.
Called in for a light meal == UPDATE - February, 2025 == This is an odd one. Once upon a time, this was a very nice country pub / restaurant / hotel. Then it closed for ages. Then it re-opened as an upmarket hotel / restaurant. As at Feb 2025, it is closed for refurbishment, due to re-open as a "transformational healing centre" ... what the hell is that ?!?! As at Feb 2025, there is no date for when this will re-open.
Had a great time here! Excellent service and evening. Will come back and definitely recommend Staff was amazing and made us feel at home
