I went to the Eyesmith for the first time last week, and I was very impressed with the staff, the care and professionalism that Liza and Dr. Johnson exhibited. I wish my Ophthalmologist in Florida was as good!
Wow! What a rude receptionist on the phone!! I called to ask if they took the state health insurance through the university and she said No, I said ok thank you and she just hung up on me! Unbelievable!!!! I've lived here in Blowing Rock for 27 years and I've never encountered such rude Inappropriate behavior from a doctor's office! I like Dr Johnson from my encounters with her before she started her own practice, and it's a little shocking she has such a rude person working for her. Very disappointed!
My husband's lens fell out of his prescription sunglasses while visiting downtown Blowing Rock. Somebody pointed us toward The EyeSmith to get them fixed. We walked in there not knowing what to expect, and they were absolutely wonderful. They fixed his glasses on the spot, immediately and without any charge, and couldn't have been friendlier about it. They completely saved my husband's day! If you're in Blowing Rock and need any eyewear help, don't hesitate to stop in. Highly recommend!

My husband and I both see Dr. Johnson for our vision care. She is knowledgeable, kind, so fun - and I look forward to my visits. This past year, Dr. Johnson has been treating my ocular rosacea and dry eyes with IPL+RF treatments and I have seen a remarkable improvement. I had a treatment this morning and all day, my eyes have said, "Ahhhhhhh, THANK YOU!" Dr. Johnson's staff is capable and professional. Every experience at The EyeSmith is definitely a 5 star rating!!!
