I attended The Expanding Light for a wonderful retreat earlier this week. This community is based on the teachings of Yogananda, but welcome to all; it is a lovely place for renewal. My time was spent meditating, doing yoga, communing with nature and visiting with members and other guests - all highly recommended!
Great experience at the retreat. Lodging was comfortable, food was great, and meditation was relaxing. Two days spent at the retreat provided the space, calmness and experience I was looking for.
We enjoyed their retreat and will recommend for all.

The Expanding Light weekend meditation retreat was just what I was hoping for to “recharge” me. The location within the spiritual community of Ananda Village in the Sierras northwest of Nevada City is a natural setting that is peaceful and quiet. The twice daily 2 hour sessions were very well taught, the accommodations were comfortable and all the members of the community that I met were welcoming and friendly. I plan to return for a longer stay.
